Assets

Assets are any digital files stored and managed within Prodify’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. They include media and content used to represent, communicate, or support your product and brand such as images, videos, documents, CAD/BIM files, graphics, logos, marketing collateral, specification sheets, and other rich media. Assets are organized with metadata, searchable, version-controlled, and shareable so teams can find, use, and distribute the right content quickly and consistently.

Admin

Admin is a user permission level in Prodify. Users with Admin status have elevated permission and can add, remove, and update user accounts for their company in Prodify. Admins can also set default fields for table, gallery, and form views.

BPM (Building Product Manufacturer)

BPM stands for Building Product Manufacturer — the type of client CADdetails and Prodify primarily serve, helping them streamline content management and reach the AEC community.

CADdetails Analytics

CADdetails Analytics is CADdetails' purpose-built reporting suite that tracks marketing exposure, engagement, and design-firm intent signals for building product manufacturers on CADdetails.com, viewed through the Client Portal's Overview, Product Intelligence, and Firm Intelligence tabs.

Client Portal

Client Portal is CADdetails' client-facing portal, now powered by Prodify, where clients access CADdetails Analytics — with billing, content management, and other tools planned to join it over time.

Collections

Collections are curated groupings of Product Families within Prodify’s PIM system that help group related Product Families together.

Custom Fields

Custom Fields are user-defined data attributes in Prodify’s Product Information Management (PIM) system that let you extend the standard product data structure with additional, tailored information specific to your needs.

Custom Fields allow you to capture and store unique details that aren’t available in the default fields such as special specifications or any other bespoke product information. Custom fields improve data accuracy, support better filtering and reporting, and help teams maintain consistency across product records.

DAM

Digital Asset Management (DAM) in Prodify is the centralized system for organizing, storing, and managing all your company’s digital files in one searchable, secure platform. Prodify’s DAM ensures assets are easy to find, consistently tagged with metadata, version-controlled, and governed with role-based permissions. It acts as a single source of truth so teams can access, share, and reuse approved content efficiently, maintain brand consistency, and simplify workflows across marketing, sales, and product teams.

Editor

An Editor in Prodify is a user role with permissions to create, modify, and manage content within the platform but without full administrative control over system settings or user accounts. Editors can upload and edit assets, update metadata, organize collections, and contribute changes to product data or media. This role enables productive team members to maintain and improve content quality while preserving governance and access control for Admins.

Guest

A Guest in Prodify is a user with limited access who can view and interact with shared content but cannot modify core system data or manage other users. Guests are typically external collaborators who are invited to access certain assets or collections without full editing or administrative privileges.

PIM

Product Information Management (PIM) in Prodify is the system and set of tools used to centralize, organize, and manage all structured product data. This includes descriptions, attributes, dimensions, SKUs, and other key product details. Prodify’s PIM ensures that accurate, up-to-date product information is maintained, linked to related digital assets, and ready to distribute across teams, channels, and external partners. This creates a single source of truth for product content, improving data quality, consistency, and operational efficiency for manufacturers and their collaborators.

Product

A Product is the most granular level of product data in Prodify’s PIM — an individual item or configuration within a Product Family (previously referred to as a Variant). Products can be grouped into Product Families, which can in turn be grouped into Collections.

Product Families

Product Families in the Prodify PIM group together related Products. Product Families can be grouped into Collections.

Viewer

A Viewer in Prodify is a user role with read-only access to content they’ve been invited to see. Viewers can browse, search, and download assets or product information, but cannot create, edit, or manage content or settings. This role is ideal for stakeholders who need to access approved files and data without making changes, ensuring secure, controlled consumption of information across teams or with external partners.

Visualizer

The Prodify Visualizer is a built-in tool within the Prodify platform that lets users preview and interact with CAD, BIM, and 3D content directly inside the application without needing external modeling or design software. This makes it easy to view detailed product geometry and spatial files, explore 3D models, and understand complex visual data right alongside your other product information and digital assets.
